A couple of weeks back I shared this picture of the aftermath of a busy week of paper crafting on social media.
I also said I’ll do a blog post on this so without further ado here are the products of that busy period. I’m going to show and talk you through the creation of 7 customised Thank You cards for a UK client.
My client recently got a long sought after promotion at work and in gratitude to the Sponsor Partners/Directors at the firm who vouched for his candidacy for the new role, he approached me to create Thank You cards for each of them. He supplied his personal wordings for each recipient, company logo too and requested that I make the cards personalised for each individual.
Today’s post is a celebratory one. IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!! It’s also my niece’s birthday. The little lady turns 10 and I turn….. no point revealing my age because a lot of you won’t believe me anyways. Lol! And no I’m not a ‘vampire’ as some people have tried to convince themselves. You know who you are. Anyways HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!! Over here in Nigeria the government has declared today and tomorrow public holidays to celebrate the muslim holiday. HURRAYYY!! Thank you Nigeria for my special birthday gift! 🙂
It’s nearly Christmas!! I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone by. So much has happened this year and quite frankly I can’t wait to be through with 2013 but that’s another story. So here we are in December, the last month of the Gregorian calendar. It’s winter in the northern hemisphere of the earth and warm and sunny in the south. I actually find it quite fascinating that South Africa goes through winter when Europe is in the summer months. Simply Amazing!
We do live on a wonderful planet and if you’re of the Christian faith like myself, then Christmas has a very deep and special meaning to you when God, the creator of this world, sent his son Jesus to come live among us.
And for you cynics out there, yes I am well aware that what we celebrate as Christmas day, the birth of Jesus Christ, could not actually have occurred on December 25th, but was created by early Christians to overshadow a pagan winter celebration and cause a conversion of belief towards the Christian faith. I think it’s even been concluded that Christ was probably born in the summer months (June/July) because you won’t have shepherds grazing their flock out in the middle of winter! (Apologies to anyone who wasn’t aware of this before. Sorry you had to find out this way. By the way Santa as you now him today was fabricated by Coca Cola!).
Hello, I wish I could say my absence from blogging was because I had been in my secret lair hatching a master plan on world domination (*insert evil laugh). Sadly nothing that exciting has been going on but I have been incredibly busy at work and as a result been too tired on most days to think of new paper projects.
So today I’m going to share with you a project I did a while back for a friend’s mum. It was her 50th Birthday and though I unfortunately couldn’t make it to her birthday party I was able to make and send a belated birthday card. She was quite delighted with the card and sent me the most pleasant thank you note ever. To be blessed with the ability to put smiles on faces and create happiness in people’s lives, that’s what makes doing this worthwhile because life is to too serious and complicated already.
Hello, its been ages since my last post and I’m completely guilt ridden again. However I do have a couple of good excuses to help my case;
1. Making this was quite a challenge as it is the first pop-up card I’ve designed from scratch and ran into a few bumps, road blocks and u-turns along the way
2. This particular card is a surprise for my niece’s birthday. We actually share the same birthday and she’s been excited for months about it and won’t keep quiet about her plans and asking me what my plans were for ‘our’ birthday. She’s also highly intelligent and inquisitive so I’ve had to be very covert in designing her card as she enjoys hanging out in my workspace and is full of questions. It was soooo not easy keeping this a secret from her and her older sister who would have let the cat out of the bag immediately (where are those emoticons when you need them)
